I was talking with a client the other day, and she told me the number one reason she's gotten such great results.

Was it the perfect workout program? I think my programming is pretty great, but it wasn't that. The perfect diet? I give solid nutrition coaching, but it wasn't that either. The perfect supplement? Nope.

"Accountability," she said.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY MEANS

Accountability gets thrown around a lot in fitness. Here's what it really means. It means you're not doing it alone. Someone, a workout buddy, a partner, or a coach, is keeping track of what you're doing. So when you drift off track, it's easier to get back on.

It means you're not just showing up whenever and doing a random workout. You've got an appointment to train with someone you actually like. Some days you won't feel like training, but when someone's expecting you, you show up so you don't let them down.

Accountability is also having someone to give you a virtual high-five when you hit your water or protein goal, not just someone who notices when you miss a workout.

So whatever your goals are, don't fly solo. Find someone who can hold you accountable to your workouts, your nutrition, and your habits. You'll be happier, enjoy the journey more, and almost certainly get better results.
