I get asked all the time what the "secret" is to having the body and health you want. The strong mind and body, the better-fitting clothes, being able to do everything you love without pain.
Here's the truth. There is no secret.
IT'S JUST THE BASICS, DONE CONSISTENTLY
Improving your diet and following a well-designed program with basic strength work, smart interval training, and intelligent core training will get you there. More protein, veggies, fruit and water. More squats and deadlifts. Targeted training of your midsection. That's it.
Don't overcomplicate it. Don't overwhelm yourself. Don't chase shortcuts, quick fixes, magic pills, or internet gurus pushing some brand-new program that'll "magically transform" your body.
The human body is designed to squat, lunge, hinge, push, pull, and carry things. Do those consistently and you're on your way.
Fuel your body on purpose and you'll watch changes happen. Rest and recover properly and your body will thank you in how it moves and feels.
So yes, that's the secret. There is none. And honestly, that's good news, because it means it's available to all of us.
